After successful installation the program adds IFC Exporter command into the Inventors Add-Ins ribbon tab

 

  

 

IFC Exporter command opens the user interface that is used for exporting Inventor assemblies and parts to the IFC format. With IFC Exporter you can export any assembly or part file into the IFC2x3, IFC4 or IFC4x3 formats.

Inventor parts are mapped to corresponding IFC objects and all properties of the Inventor parts can be optionally included in to the IFC file.

Third-party Licenses

IFC Exporter is using xBIM Toolkit libraries. xBIM libraries are made available under the CDDL Open Source license. 

Export Inventor Assembly or Part


To export Inventor assembly or part, please select Schema version and press Export IFC button. You can also select optionally wheather or not export properties as well with the Export Properties check box. 


You can select as well wheather or not use Class Mappings and Property Mappings with other check boxes. If you want to use Class Mappings or/and PropertyMappings, please refer to corresponding chapters.

If true, the plugn will export all properties

If true, the plugin is using Class Mappings to define IFC element class

Use Class Mappings Colors

If true, colors are created based on Class Mapping definitions

Use Property Mappings

If true, the plugin will create IFC propertysets based on Property Mappings

Use Assembly Colors

If true, the plugin will create IFC element colors based on Assembly Colors definitions

Check Color Overrides

If true, the plugin will use color overrides of each Inventor part

Use SurfaceBody Colors

If true, the plugin will use colors of the SurfaceBodies of the parts

Name of the project to be added in IFC file

Name of the site to be added in IFC file

BuildingName

Name of the building to be added in IFC file

Organisation

Name of the organisation to be added in IFC file

Author First Name

First name of the author to be added in IFC file

Last name of the author to be added in IFC file


Log and License

You can see log of export process at the Log and License tab with Open Logfile button.
